I did it! I actually did it!

Today was my inagural run! And I'm happy to say that I finished with a good time (for me) and was able to run the entire 5 miles without walking!!! Now mind you, I started running in January at the urge of my friend Angie- I had NO intention of actually running a race but just to quiet her up I decided to start training (that was said with love :). When I did start, I could only run 30 seconds and then had to walk 2 minutes (Couch to 5K program). Today I ran an entire hour and 5 minutes without walking!!! I have NEVER been so proud of myself- ok, maybe after I gave birth, but really- I worked hard for this. And my boys have been SO supportive of me. Thank you for putting up with my whining, and time away running with Ang. I felt like I could do anything and I weathered the storm~ Praise GOD!!!!

Do I sense a little 'tude?

Attitude that is... Opie had his second round of Kindergarten round up and he was overly confident this time!!! He came out of the classroom with a big grin and gave me the thumbs up like "mom, I got this one in the bag". I'm so grateful that my children are not shy, they are respectful, and good students. However, Owen (my "middle" child) concerns me. His sweet, coy little grin is also the look of mischief. I pray next year goes well. Your prayers would be appreciated as well.

The Dead... Are Alive???

Jere and I had a FABULOUS but quick trip to Denver last week to see the Dead. We were fortunate to meet up with the Focken's from Boston, the Talley's from Kansas and some college friends of mine from Virginia. WOW! What a crazy time and much anticipated trip. Jere, of course, was on cloud 9 (not literally) to see his beloved band, I, on the other hand could have stood in the parking lot ALL night and "people watched". People are nuts!!!! We had a great time and it was nice to get away.

Misc....

It's been a bit since I've posted... The Mieska household has been extremely busy with soccer, school, work, play.. and we wouldn't have it any other way. Just wanted to post a few recent pictures of the kids.
