Yummy Nummies...

I had to take a picture of the yummy meals I made today- is that a sign of getting older when I'm actually interested in the presentation of my food? If so, oh well...it was so darn good. And for breakfast it was just 7.5 points, lunch was just 5.5 points. Cousin H (in Minnesota) has inspired me to get back on the WW bandwagon since she recently dropped a dress size. Thanks, H! Now if I can just work off these 8 years of baby weight it would be great ;)

Breakfast: 3 egg whites, 1/2 ounce cheddar cheese, 1/8 ounce vidalia onion, 1/8 ounce yellow pepper, 1/4 cup roma tomato, fresh basil and fresh chives from my garden. And the yummiest peach- not from my garden :0

Lunch: 2 Tuna Tacos- oh my! 2 ounces albacore tuna, 2 tsp yellow mustard, 2 tsp sweet relish, 1/8 cup red pepper, 1/8 cup yellow pepper, 1/8 cup red onion, 1/2 cup roma tomato, 1/2 ounce cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup romaine lettuce, 2 flour tortillas. Oh my, heaven! and the juiciest plum I've ever had :)

Thumbsucker???

None of our boys have ever really been thumbsuckers so when Jere saw Juder curled up for a nap he had to grab this photo. He looks so sweet here. There is nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby :)

Summer Slippin'

I let the kids loose with the slip 'n slide and the hose yesterday. OOHHHH what fun they had. Juderbug could have cared less about the slide- he was just happy as a lark to spray his brothers. Check out the diaper on that kiddo- boy could it hold in the water. I used to be a Pampers snob, but I'm a firm believer that Target brand diapers are the bomb!!!

Happy Father's Day to my Superman :)

Need I say more... He's the bestest daddy ever!

'Smore Fun

First Mieska Camping Trip

The Mieska crew ventured to Lake Icaria in Corning, Iowa (1 hour 15 minutes away) for Father's Day weekend. Jeremiah was so excited to finally get us out and "rough" it. Lake Icaria is a beautiful fishing lake (walleye), has a great swimming beach, room for boats, cabins, biking, nature walks, and more and more. I have to be honest, I was extremely skeptical on how this was all going to play out. Having an 8 year old and six year old who want to fish, ride bikes, and boat along with a 2 year old who thinks he can fish, ride a "big" bike and jump in a boat or the water while watching a 4 month old did NOT sound enjoyable to me! However, I was pleasantly surprised. We had an amazing time!! Our Lang Gang friends came along and we all had a great time. We had a little wet and windy weather on Saturday night but for the most part it was a huge success. We'll definitely do some more camping in the future!

First NumNums

Little Finn had his 4 month check last Tuesday and was given the go-ahead for some yummy rice cereal. Day one he wasn't quite sure what to think, but we've gradually gotten into the hang of it and now he's LOVIN' it! My little champ- he weighed in at exactly 14 pounds, 25 3/4 inches long. So he's a growin' boy.

4 months!!!

It has been 4 short months since we introduced Mr. Finn to the fam. He's a sweet, lovable, patient little fellow! He's rolling over, grabbing for toys, cooing, giggling at his goofy brothers, and sleeping through the night...we finally got it right after 4 kids! We could not have been blessed with a sweeter baby. Tomorrow is his 4 month check so we'll see how much he weighs...I'm guessing 14 pounds 4 ounces...he's a scrawny little one.

Jude + water + dirt= one DIRTY kid

The pictures are self-explanatory. Jude has never found a puddle he could resist ;)

Owen's FirstT-Ball game!

O FINALLY got to suit up & join the ranks of his big brother (although Luke has since moved onto baseball). He had his first game a little over a week ago & did a great job! He played first base & pitcher. The day of his 7PM game he was up & in his uniform a full 12 hours before game time...this kiddo gave it his all. So proud of you O!!!

Summer 2010 has begun!

School's out for summer! YAHOOOOO! The big boys had their last day of school last Thursday and we've made the most of it so far. Their first day home they had water gun fights, hose fights, and of course.... just fights :) We've already frequented the parks, been boating, to an Omaha Royals baseball game, to the Ozarks, and there is definitely more to come. I LOVE being home with them. There are times that things get crazy, chaotic and just plain insane but I wouldn't change it for the world. I won't have many more summers with everyone home with me. Pretty soon they will be off to their friend's homes, baseball games, dates....yeegads! That scares me. So as for now, I'm soaking up all my boy time and some sun :)
