The Luckiest Gal in Town!

Not only am I lucky but I'm also truly blessed to have the best father-in-law, father, and daddy for my kids!!! I wanted to share just a bit about these 3 amazing men!

When I first met Steve (well over 20 years ago) I never thought in a million years he'd be my father in law! I'm sure he wasn't thinking I'd marry his son either. He didn't talk much, was pretty reserved, and gave yes and no answers to Jeremiah. HMMMM! Not sure what I thought of him then :) But now, I can say he's the greatest! He loves his grandsons, is a HUGE help to us and doesn't tell Jeremiah when I call and beg for help around the house- Jeremiah thinks he just shows up to fix the doors, windows, concrete etc.... Oops! I just gave myself away. If there is one compliment (and there are many) I could give Steve is that he raised an amazing son and I thank him for that! My dad... I could go on and on! He's always been a huge support to me. He's pushed me to work hard, study hard, and play hard. He's always been my number one fan at sporting events, school, and work. He's taught me the value of a dollar (and I LOVE to spend dollars :), how to treat family, and how to be independent. Thanks dad! I love you!!! And on to Jeremiah- Boy did God pick out the best husband for me. He knew Jeremiah would make the greatest dad ever! Everyone knows Jeremiah is the laid back one in our family- so we balance eachother out when it comes to parenting. Luke, Owen, and Jude adore their daddy. He has a great sense of humor, a passion for his sports, love for his family and puts God at the center of it all. Who could ask for more?

Happy Father's Day to the 3 of you!!!

Our new "DOs"

It was SO hot today I decided on a whim to chop the mop. So my lovely hair dresser finally agreed with me that it was time to go with a short do. I was a little nervous but I LOVE it. Hopefully I will be able to pull it back in a small piggy when I run, if not, I'll just sweat more! And the Juderbug got a little trim as well. He's been looking a bit like Joe Dirt with the mullet growing so he's trimmed up and looks cute as ever!

Tractor Time

Having fun on the John Deere today. The boys have been playing on the new play set under our deck. Summer is in full bloom!

Living With Boys....

Okay, so I'm only posting this to show all you moms of girls what it's like to have 4 boys in the house. Now I know girls can be just as dirty and messy, but at least they typically out grow it. I'm not so hopeful for my bunch... Luke's door now says "No Girls Allowed", Do you see the laundry basket?... and where is the dirty underwear- oh, of course, right NEXT to the laundry basket! I guess the new storage place for our jock strap is on the stairs- the most logical spot for a jock strap- DUH! and the Legos... need I say more. And my favorite- when I sit down and need to use toilet paper I find a Star Wars doll staring back at me. At least they all can make me laugh!!!

Not Wind, Not Pouring Rain nor Lightning Will Stop Us!

The Mieska clan participated in the Council Bluffs 5K and Fun Run this morning! Jere and I took off and within 1 minute we were in a down pour and lots of lightning. However, it was a fun run and my fastest time yet for 3.2 miles. I guess I was determined to get out of the cold as quickly as possible. I tell you what- I'm seriously considering having Lasik surgery after today. I was nearly blind with all the rain and fog on my glasses, but I powered through and thanks to my friend Angie I was able to wear her hat to keep some of the rain off my face. Jere finished in a great time and said he's looking forward to a 10K. The little guys had a blast in the Fun Run. They were both able to finish the mile without stopping. So proud of my Mieska Boys!!!

Lions, and Tigers, and Bears... Oh My!

This is a great photo of the boys at the zoo today. I just love how Owen has to cheese for everything! He has a smile that melts your heart and a laugh that is contagious. We had a fun time and the boys loved the new Skyfari ride!!! Jude screamed with delight while looking down at the giraffes and rhino!

"Little Leaguer"

Luke's first machine pitch game of the season- It was a slow process and he didn't get a hit, but he did get to play first base AND be the catcher. He'll be playing for the big leagues soon enough!!!

'Pasketti Toe Head

Summer is in full bloom here and the boys and I are enjoying every minute of it. So far we've been to the Omaha Children's Museum, played with the slip & slide, had a food fight on the deck (FYI- rice and corn doesn't come out of hair all that well), planted pumpkins for the Pumpkin harvest party, played on the BerkAnna boat, and had many late night ice creams- my favorite part of summer! And we're only a few days into June.

The Juderbug is growing so fast! He's all over the place and into everything. He's not talking yet (14 months)- which for me is frustrating with a speech background- however I know he's completely on track developmentally. With 2 older brothers to do EVERYTHING for him, why would he need to talk. I have to keep reminding myself this! I'm sharing a few beautiful pictures my friend Angie took of Jude- either he's darn cute or she's got a great camera! I think it's a bit of both. Stay tuned for more updates- Luke has his first machine pitch game tonight and he'll be decked out like he's playing for the pros :)
