There are days I have all kinds of things to say and I file it away in my overwhelmed brain along with the grocery list, appointments to be made, lunch money to be paid, laundry to be folded, cub scout meetings to plan, and weekly meal planning...not complaining, just sayin'. At times I think I'll give up on blogging but I love that I can record a small window of our birdboys' lives. So I plug along...it's infrequent, but I'm tryin'.
Life is getting easier...or harder, depends on how you look at it. Birdpapa and I are no longer getting up multiple times a night with Birdbaby. We have birdboy #3 completely potty trained (praise God!) so the diaper bill has reduced by a heap (literally), and Birdboy #1 and #2 are pretty self-sufficient (make their own breakfasts- this suprisingly takes more time than one thinks, pick out their own clothes, and can actually scrub a toilet when bribed!)...On the other hand, birdbaby doesn't take as long as naps as he did in infancy, hence less chore time, he's up and down the stairs at rapid-fire speed, and loves tearing through cupboards, trash cans, and laundry baskets! The diaper free Birdboy #3 now needs a bottom-wiped, thinks he can pour his own milk (3 outta 4 ain't bad), and now talks back :). And those little chefs I was talking about- well, when they make their own breakfasts my kitchen looks like a bomb went off...just when they're making cereal or oatmeal... sheesh. I'll pick my battles. They're great kids. I love 'em and I'm gonna keep 'em.
